This bridge was originally built in 1894. There used to be 4 bronze bears on the bridge but they disappeared during the 1940s. Melted down in the war I suppose. On 2. Nov. 1981 4 cast iron bears moved in. They were made by the Wittenauer foundry to a design by Günter Anlauf (1924–2000). I think they are great.
